Get Fit & Lose Weight
Everyone’s going to get old eventually but some of us will feel it sooner than others. Research has shown that levels of of fitness tend to go down gradually as we get older but that fitness levels take a nosedive after the age of 45.
A group of men and women underwent medical exams over a 32 year period. Their cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) or the health of the heart and lungs was measured during the exams. Heart and lung health was even worse for those that were overweight, smoked and did not get much exercise.
What does this mean for you?
First, you need to exercise. Exercise does so much for your body and mind that it’s something you just have to do. It doesn’t have to be complicated either. the easiest way to start exercising is to walk. The latest joint American Heart Association/American College of Sports Medicine guidelines on physical activity recommend that all healthy adults ages 18–65 should be getting at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity five days of the week. You can walk to nearby shops instead of taking the car, use more steps instead of elavators, walk at least part of the way to work, the seemingly mundane things can really help.

I completly agree with this study. I am 27 years old who has recently started frequent exercise and i do feel better, im not so tired in the afternoons and im also sleeping better. I have also started to walk to shops or friends houses and also parking the car in the furthest car parking space possible at work.
i think walking is the best form of exercise i have lost plenty of weight because of walking
It`s true I am 49 now, up untill the age of 46 I went to the gym 4 or 5 times a week
and then suddenly stopped,I love a work out, there` s no better feeling, since I stopped working out which consisted of jogging and sprinting on a tread mill 3 years ago I have just balloned,I have applied fro a gym membership again,so heres hoping for a stone and a half to come off in the new year.

No amount of exercise can offset the danger of selecting wrong foods. A large number of diets that recommend exercise often need to supplement their food regime with exercise because the diet component won’t work on its own. This is why most diets don’t work… they are concentrating on the wrong areas – fitness instead of food!
Fat loss plans that work do it by recommending the right kind of nutritional foods, and more importantly blocking out the wrong kind of “banned” ingredients that can do an incredible amount of damage to your body.
I am 46 years old. And yeah, I really think I need the exercise. I work 8 hours sitting down, sometimes more. I notice my tummy is growing bigger. I cannot wear my pants neither my shorts anymore. I have asthma. What do you think is the best exercise for me? Thanks for this post.
I really enjoyed reading through your article, there is quite a bit to digest here but it made for good reading and information gathering, I’ve always been interested in Health & Fitness which started at a very young age and my idol has been Jack Lalanne you can read about this remarkable man if you google him or go to wikipedia. anyway great information. Thanks Mark
